Electronics and Communication Engg. is useful for numerous applications such as in Defence and Space programmes, Wireless communications, Satellite Communications, industrial and domestic products, Computers, Cell phones, Television, radios, CD players, Radar, Cinematography, Medical instruments , mass communication etc. Electronics is a vast field and has developed rapidly during the last few years.
The ever increasing demand for faster and novel means of audio and video communication systems and the automation in industry etc. have made the Electronics Engineers and indispensable member of the modern society. Under the worsening energy crisis, the role of an electronic engineer comprises the design and development of more efficient electronic machinery, power systems and control equipment and systems. with ever increasing tempo of events throughout the world, it has become essential to have more efficient communication network with the latest electronic devices and circuits. The department has well-equipped laboratories such as principle of communication engineering lab., Communication system lab., Advanced communication system lab., Communication Engineering lab., TV lab., Digital Electronics lab., Electronic and Devices laboratories, Introduction to Microprocessor lab., Industrial Engg. lab., Network Filters & Transmission lab., Computer lab. & Electrical Laboratory.
Electronics and Communication Engineering is constantly widening its scope in every field of engineering. The prime work of the Electronics and Communication engineer is to design, fabricate, produce, test and supervise the manufacturing of electronic products for various industries. CSIO, Nokia, Samsung, Airtel, LG, Railways, Defence forces, Vodafone, and Reliance are some of the few recruiters of electronics and communication engineers.
Minimum Academic Qualifications for B.E./B.Tech.:
Should be a pass in 10+2 examination from recognized Board/University with Physics and
Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:
(c) Computer Science
Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category i.e. SC category) in the above subjects taken together.
Intake: As per AICTE norms.
Duration: 4 years.
