Computer Science Engg. Department
The Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch aims at a balanced blend of topics from Computer Science and Electronics to provide an expertise to engineers who are capable of grasping and solving the complex problems in this field. Computer Engineering is concerned with analysing, designing and constructing computer and hence developing the required computer programs. This is an upcoming and growing area of technology. Generally the Computer Science Engg. Deals with the understanding of information compilation, transfer and transformation. This field of engineering stresses on how computer systems work and also how they integrate.
The department is furnished with fully air conditioned labs connected to servers, UPS and printers. All labs are equipped with latest Intel Dual Core processors with Windows-XP and Linux operating system. The internet facility has 5 MBPS Broadband connectivity and all the nodes are assigned to the students. The computer lab provides latest capabilities to cope up with today’s technology based interconnected world. Students have access to latest computer equipments, including an extensive network. The Department has experienced faculty members and Laboratory Assistants to help and support the students. The Department encourages R & D works and Faculty Development Programmes. The faculty of Computer Department is involved in various research works in the key areas of computer science. There are plenty of exciting job opportunities locally, nationally and internationally for computer engineers, as they are in high demand.
Scope of Computer Science Engineering
Computers, now days, are being used in every walk of life. The main task of computer engineer is to design, and develop advanced hardware, software and systems for reducing power, size of the hardware components and to increase the speed of operation. HP, Dell, Wipro, Infosys, Intel, TCS, etc are some of the main recruiters of Computer and IT engineers.
Minimum Academic Qualifications for B.E./B.Tech.:
Should be a pass in 10+2 examination from recognized Board/University with Physics and
Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:
(c) Computer Science
Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category i.e. SC category) in the above subjects taken together.
Intake: As per AICTE norms.
Duration: 4 years.
